WHERE IT BEGAN
IT STARTED WITH ADVENTURE PEOPLE
We were never interested in conventional tours.
In 2013, Stacey Pokluda founded Adventure People to create the kind of group travel she couldn’t find anywhere else.
These weren’t meant to be conventional tours built around crowded attractions and rigid sightseeing schedules. They were designed for curious travelers who wanted to experience a place more deeply, connect with local people, step outside their comfort zones, and share the journey with others.
Many travelers arrived on their own. They left with friendships, stories, and a stronger sense of what they were capable of.

WHAT WE LEARNED
Travelers don't need more information.
They need a source they can trust.
After 13 years, we kept seeing the same pattern: people spending hours comparing generic, sponsored, and conflicting advice—only to arrive and realize they had planned someone else’s version of a great trip.
They didn’t need another top-ten list. They needed someone to tell them what was worth their time, what wasn’t, and how to build an experience that felt right for them.
That realization became

Everything we built made bigger than any one trip.
We still believe in traveling together. Group trips, hosted campouts, private journeys, and shared experiences remain part of who we are. But our purpose has grown.
Today, Adventure Community is a transformational travel media brand and community helping more people discover and plan experience-rich travel—whether they travel with us, with friends, or entirely on their own.
If a famous attraction is worth the crowds, we’ll tell you. If it’s overpriced and disappointing, we’ll tell you that too.
